'Grow your way to a five a day'! This seems to be the motto for more and more families in Cam. We currently have 4 sites in Cam and each site has varying sizes and numbers of plots. However the waiting list for allotments continues to grow and with over 30 people now waiting patiently on our list, we have decided to try some other methods to reduce this down. We asked our existing plot holders if anyone would be willing to give up half their plot to create two smaller plots. This offer has been taken up by a few tenants for which we are very grateful. Unfortunately as much as we reduce the list down, it just keeps growing so we have now decided to create a new allotment site on land owned by the parish council at Ashmead. This land was rented to a local farmer for grazing but plans for creating approximately 20 plots are well under way and we should have some more news on this matter soon.
The price of an allotment is £13 per year for a full size plot and the smaller plots have been set at £7.50. If you are interested in any of our allotment sites, please email us at the office. admin@camparishcouncil.gov.uk.
