We currently have two vacancies for a Parish
Councillor.
Woodfield
Ward
Due to the resignation of Cllr M Poole, a vacancy has
arisen.
******************************
Lower Ward
Due to the resignation of Cllr K Pearce, a vacancy has
arisen.
If you are a local resident and would like to play a part
in shaping the future of our community, your input would be very
welcome on the Parish Council.
Although the office of Councillor does, of course, carry
certain responsibilities, and demand a level of commitment, these
may not as onerous as many people imagine. Attendance at
meetings is required - but these are rarely the 'stuffy' affairs
people imagine and are usually very enjoyable occasions.
Any applicant's name must appear on the current register
of electors for the parish or the applicant must, during the whole
of the last twelve months, have resided in or within 3 miles of the
parish, or the applicant's only place of work during the last
twelve months must have been in the parish. The applicant
must not be legally debarred from standing as a
councillor.
If you would like more information on what being a
Councillor entails, please contact the Clerk to the Council, who
will be happy to chat with you informally about it.
